Neuropathy
Symptoms include burning or feelings of pressure in the feet. It is generally worse at night. In some cases there is numbness as well. Neuropathy can be caused by diabetes, vitamin deficiencies or injury or pressure on a nerve. At the first visit tests will be done to determine the severity of the condition as well as the cause of it. Treatment is different for each patient and may consist of topical medications which if applied several times a day, may remove the symptoms. There are physical therapeutic modalities we use in the office that also produce great results. In some cases we will prescribe oral medications which will greatly reduce or even eliminate the pain.
